Observations

All people live in ignorance about most aspects of the world around them. This shouldn’t be surprising, insulting, or edgy. If you think that it is, you are being daft. The vastness of the world limits our ability to fully understand most things. There is nothing controversial about that.

Humans are constantly striving to make things “better”. But you should be asking yourself… “better for whom?”

When a company has streamlined a process, it isn’t always for the customer. In fact, most times it isn’t. Most of the time it is to cut costs. Profitability is just a fact of businesses. They exist solely to be profitable. If that weren’t true, they would be “non-profits”, or they would just do it out of kindness. This isn’t some evil intent, but it does often result in some unintended consequences and outcomes.

Many of these are inherent to “doing business”.

Living in a “society” dictates that people are no longer generalists. They must now become specialists. This is the very point of “higher education”.
